Main House
The house is largely open plan with a fully functioning kitchen and and a sitting room with Cable TV, a surround sound music player and large French windows leading to the pool area. The house is designed to be a cool, light haven during the hottest parts of the day with tiled floors and a gentle draft. The Pool
The pool is situated at the front of the house and measures 33 by 13ft, with steps leading into the shallow area. There is a pool house with a bar that offers a sanctuary in which to mix the finest cocktails, or to keep the local Carib beers ice cold. A plentiful supply of wooden sun loungers with cushions allow you to relax throughout the day when even the short trip to the beach seems like hard work. Surrounded by a well kept garden, and with a further deck with safe railings on which to have breakfast or indulge in a board or card game, time can seem to ease by gently in the company of hummingbirds and other birdlife. Lunch and dinner can be taken either under the open sky or in the eating area between the pool and house. Two large gas barbeques offer the perfect way to cook the local fish, such as Tuna, Bonito, Kingfish, Barracuda and Red Snapper, all of which are easily bought in the local town Castara from the fishermen who come in twice daily.
House Staff
Django is our trusted gardener and friend, who keeps the immaculate garden that surrounds the house from which fresh lime, banana and coconut can be procured. He comes every weekday and can offer all the local knowledge and advice you need. Our housekeeper, Glynnis, comes three times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and keeps the house in clean and tidy order, regularly washing sheets and towels.
